Growing up in Brazil, Rielis Mesquita experienced the societal impacts of poor water quality and restricted access to clean drinking water. Early in Mesquita's life, he lost two of his younger brothers to a waterborne illness from the local water supply. The loss of his brothers dramatically reshaped the course of Mesquita's life. Over the last 30 years, this journey has led Mesquita to help improve the wellness of all lives around him. Mesquita first immigrated to the United States in pursuance of his mission and the American Dream. While working as an executive chef, he learned that the cookware he used contained unhealthy and dangerous chemical levels. Inspired to find healthier alternatives, Mesquita researched the external pollutants and chemicals often found in household products, food, drinking water supplies, and the air. Armed with this knowledge, Mesquita became an advocate for restaurants and chefs to use non-toxic stainless steel cookware and utensils.
Our mission is to carry out the philanthropic vision of the Mesquita family and enhance the quality of life for immigrant and underserved communities. Critical resources such as clean water and air are scarce and often nonexistent for many of these families. The RMF Foundation is committed to using every dollar we raise to help restore these communities and ensure the prosperity of future generations.
